With Halloween fast approaching its time again for our annual pumpkin carving! Each year on a Saturday evening around Halloween, the team here at Rent A Knee Walker like to get together for a pumpkin carving competition.
Over the years, the competition has definitely heated up with lots of smack talk and friendly rivalry. Designs are kept top secret and only the finest tools are used, some even break out the power tools.
After our bellies are full with burgers and beer, the top of the pumpkins come off, guts are emptied and the fun begins. Whether a carving is done free hand or with a stencil, it takes about two hours for everyone to complete their masterpiece.
Then the pumpkins are lined up in the dark and lit up alongside each other for judging, Survivor style!
Once everyone has voted I then read out the votes just like Jeff Probst does. With some spooky music as our background for effect :)
This year I wanted to share some of the best with you. But before I do, it's only fair that the winners' s pumpkin gets top billing.
So without further ado, the winning pumpkin this year is.....
Camper Pumpkin 2015 Winner!
Not only did the "Camper Pumpkin" take 2 pumpkins and 3 ghords, it was something different and very creative! Its hard to see from the photos, but the color changing flashing LED lights inside really gave it a sense that the fun party goers inside were having a great time in the camper!
In no particular order here are some of the other pumpkins carved.
Fair Ground Carousel Pumpkin
Round and round it goes! Complete with detailed horses and flickering LED lights.
Christmas Tree Pumpkin
Two Seasons in one! This one had Christmas tree lights inside which gave a very warm and colorful glow to the pumpkin.
Skull Pumpkin
A Halloween classic, the pumpkin was all bumpy which added to the creepiness of the skulls surface. It also had a pulsing brain!
Darth Maul 'Star Wars' Pumpkin
There is a disturbance in the force! Darth Maul showed up this year, he wasn't very talkative but we definitely felt his presence.
Drinking Skull Hand Pumpkin
This pumpkin liked to drink, I wonder what this skeletons drink of choice was?
Cat Pumpkin
Cat in the hat? no.... its a friendly looking cat with a witches hat!
