- Knowing how to fold and unfold the knee walker would be a big help so that you can carry it with ease.
The folding and unfolding of a knee scooter can seem daunting with so many different models out there, but there are 3 essential elements to focus on that are the same across all knee scooter models.Lock the brakes
The first step to folding your knee scooter is to engage the parking brakes. It will prevent the risk of your knee scooter from slipping away while you work on it.
Just about every kneeling scooter has a parking brake, and the process for engaging it is usually simple and straightforward. But some knee scooters have different brake lock mechanisms. Refer to your owner's manual to see how to engage the parking brakes on your specific knee scooter.

This step varies depending on the knee scooter model. However, below is the method for the majority of knee scooters.
To fold down the steering column, locate the release lever at the bottom of the steering column. This lever pulls up and locks down into position to fully secure the steering column to the base of the knee walker.
Untighten the release lever by pulling the lever up and twisting counterclockwise to loosen. Once the lever is loose, it can now be pulled down.
At this point, the steering column is still locked. So there's one last step to do.
Place your fingers on the release lever and pull left towards your supporting finger.
Finally, you can now slowly push down the steering column and tuck it underneath the knee rest pad.
At this point, your knee scooter is folded down appropriately for when you need to carry it in your car or short-term storage.

The process to unfold your knee scooter is much like folding but in reverse.
To fold, raise the steering column back into the upright position and find the release lever.
Make sure to pull the release lever back toward your thumb so that the steering column can lock into place. Then release the lever, and the column can lock into place.
To fully secure the column, lift the release lever back into an upright position and then turn the lever clockwise to tighten it. Once it is locked, you can pull down the lever to secure it.
